Argentina — Photography
Manuel Abramovich is a filmmaker, photographer and cinematographer. He studied cinematography at ENERC (The National Film School of Argentina). He ́s a Berlinale Talents (2012) and an IDFA Summer School (2012) alumni. His short “La Reina” (The Queen, 2014) has been shown at more than 150 festivals worldwide and has received 50 awards at central festivals (Fribourg, Documenta Madrid, Los Angeles, Seattle, Abu Dhabi, BAFICI, Karlovy Vary, Melbourne, among others). The film has also been awarded as the “Best Argentinian Short Film of 2014”, earn him a nomination for the IDA Awards 2014 (International Documentary Asociation) and was shortlisted for the Cinema Eye Honors.
Nowadays, he’s wrapping up his first feature documentary “Solar”, selected at the IDFA Summer School 2012 (Script Station), Visions du Réel 2015 (Docs in Progress), and winner of the Best Work in Progress Award at the Mar del Plata Film Festival. He has been invited as a jury at festivals in Argentina, Spain, Chile and Croatia. He´s currently developing his second feature film “Soldado”, to be shot in 2016.
