Colombia Illustration Painting

Born in Bogotá, Colombia (1989), completed her bachelor in visual arts at Javeriana University, Bogotá in 2011, before moving to Belgium and starting a MFA in painting at KASK School of Arts. Has has solo and group exhibitions in Bogotá, Brussels, Ghent, Vienna, Marseille, Sicily among others. Painting and drawing have been her principal mediums influenced by the experiences of daily life, music, art history, cinema and mythology among others. The result is often a combination of images and symbols that play between reality and fantasy, portrayed in moments where ambiguity is always present. She also works broadly in the tradition of live portrait painting, engaging with her subjects and their objects in an intimate manner. In 2015 she began a program as a candidate laureate in HISK (Higher Institute for Fine Arts) in Ghent, Belgium.
